All five currently living former U.S. presidents teamed up for a new ad calling for relief for victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
George Bush Jr. and Sr., Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama released the above advertisement for the One America Appeal campaign, which asks U.S. citizens to donate funds that will go to hurricane victims.
As former President Obama stated, “As former presidents, we wanted to help our fellow Americans begin to recover.”
Former President George W. Bush Jr. said, “People are hurting down here, but as one Texan put it, ‘we’ve got more love in Texas than water.’ ”
His father then finished with: “We love you, Texas.” Both Bush Sr. and Jr. were previously Governors of Texas, the state that was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey.
